Our thoughts on: Ferrari 812 GTS

Welcome to the 812 GTS

The V12-powered 812 GTS was Ferrari's open-top flagship grand tourer, and the last naturally aspirated front-engined V12 convertible the brand built. It combines the classic Ferrari flair with cutting-edge performance. Here is why it is worth booking on Club Velocità.

Technical Information

The engine is a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 (Ferrari F140). It produces about 789 horsepower and 718Nm of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car reaches 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, with a top speed near 340 km/h. The retractable hardtop roof folds away in 14 seconds, even at speeds up to 45 km/h. The chassis is reinforced over the coupe version to handle the open-top structure without losing rigidity.

Our Take on the 812 GTS

We had an F12 Berlinetta back in 2017, which was this cars predecessor, and similarly it has a strong road presence and a V12 front engine. Unlike most of our mid-rear engine 2 seater exotics, the front engine with750+ horsepower to the rear wheels make this a unique driving experience. It's front heavy which always makes you think, especially in terms of throttle control, you can easily get wheel spin and oversteer. It feels long and navigating the streets of Tokyo can be challenging but this truly comes alive on the mountain roads and is great for long journeys. This is a modern grey paint finish and oozes class, the GTS makes you feel connected to both the engine sounds and the surroundings wherever you are. Probably one of the top 3 cars in terms of value on the platform and also brand new (we had to break it into 2000 kilometres below 5000 RPM, which was hard knowing the red line and LED steering wheel lights come alive around 8000 RPM!).

Key Points to look out for

  • The V12 sound: It is loud, sharp, and builds to a scream near 8,900 rpm. One of the last of its kind.

  • The acceleration: Power is available everywhere, from idle to redline, with no turbo lag to interfere.

  • The interior: A blend of Alcantara, leather, and carbon fibre. Driver-focused and precise.

  • The design: A staple of Flavio Manzoni's Ferrari Styling Centre. Aggressive, but elegant with the roof down.

Recommended for

  • An unforgettable open-top drive across Tokyo.

  • Car enthusiasts who appreciate raw performance and modern Italian engineering.

This is a car built for moments you will remember for years. Book it, drop the roof, and let that V12 remind you what a Ferrari is supposed to sound like.
